Work of the band can't be put into narrow frames of any "format". Repertoire of D.E.U.S.-QUARTET comprises favorite music of all generations: operatic arias, vocal classics, masterpieces of Russian and Ukrainian folklore, jazz compositions, world hits, songs from foreign and Soviet movies of the 1940-1980's, popular retro music. The artists sing in a number of languages: Russian, Ukrainian, English, French, Italian. All the performances are live. All the band's orchestrations are original, written by Evgeny Luzhetsky, one of the quartet's participants, who considers all individual vocal characteristics of every soloist. "We do not re-sing old hits, duplicating the original song in a worse or better manner. We take music that is very interesting to us and rearrange it for the four voices creating our own interpretation of old and famous songs", he says in the interview. One of the strongest and most favorite creative sides of the team is a cappella singing, which means singing without music. This style that is rather unusual today is performed by the band thanks to their vocal skills and the team itself - two tenors, baritone, and basso, a classical male four-voice texture. Thus, D.E.U.S.-QUARTET can be called the founders of a new style - a pop four-voice texture style.

BIOGRAPHY

The story of D.E.U.S-QUARTET began in winter of 2009 when four singers of a chamber choir decided to sing only their favorite songs. The first performances were held at the outdoor performance stages in Moscow and the Moscow Region. They brought the first success to the artists. The debut solo recital, held on January 13, 2010 at Moscow International House of Music, saw a true sellout. It was followed by the radio interview taken by a famous music journalist A. Vargaftik, participation in a festival "A Cappella Party" in Saint-Petersburg, in all-European campaign "Night of Museums" (Moscow), in the International Festival of Music of Russian Manor Houses "Noble Seasons" (Moscow). Summer of 2010 saw the first foreign tour with total sellouts in J?kabpils and Riga (Latvia). In 2011 D.E.U.S.-QUARTET besides taking part in collective concerts and tours throughout Russia, had a great success at Moscow International House of Music - accompanied by the Russian State Academic Concert Orchestra "Boyan". A TV version of this concert was broadcasted in March, and it is sometimes re-broadcasted nowadays, too. In January 2012 the team celebrated their third birthday.
